Here’s a great, FREE solution for simple image rotation in joomla.   You can’t assign URL’s to different images but you can assign one URL link for all images.   This is not a solution for banners, but is a nice eye-candy advertisement.

You can change transition time and force automatic resizing on width and height.

It worked great for a “Top Sellers” application where all clicks went to the same e-store.

After changing the Path to Images folder in mod_banners, I experienced a problem accessing newly uploaded banners in the banner component interface.

The problem is that the images/banners folder is hardcoded in the banners module.

Files toreplace “images/banners/” with “your_custom_image_path/banners”:

/modules/mod_banners/helper.php - On line 84 and 120

/administrator/components/com_banners/controllers/banner.php - On line 166

/administrator/components/com_banners/views/banner.php - On line 225,  432, 437

Microsoft has announced a new Video ActiveX Control vulnerability that allows remote code execution.

Who is at risk?  Windows 2000/XP users running Internet Explorer.

Who is safe?   Vista and Windows 2003 and 2008 server.

Is there a fix?   Not at this time, but the article provides a registry hack under the Suggested Actions > Workaround section.
